  • Title I - A Very Magical Family Reading Night Floyd County Title 1 would like to announce a special event called A Very Magical Family Reading Night to be held at Floyd County High School on Tuesday, April 4 from 5 to 7 pm.  At 5:00, there will be a baked potato dinner in the cafeteria.  At 5:45, The Jessie Peterman Public Library will discuss the summer reading program in the auditorium. Also in the auditorium, from 6:00 until 7:00, there will be a program by Mark Daniel called READasaurus on the Loose.  In addition to these events, there will be prizes to be raffled off, and there will also be a book walk to win free books.  We hope to see you at this ...

  • 2016-17 School Calendar Amended The current school calendar has been amended to retrieve built-in days that have not been missed for inclement weather.  The last day of school for students will be a half-day on Friday, May 26, 2017.  Graduation for Floyd County High School is set for Saturday, May 20, 2017.All Staff members will have a required workday on May 30, 2017, to satifsy their contractual obligations. Additional required year-end work days for 10-month and 11-month staff may be flexibly worked based on approval by the Principal and Superintendent.If you have questions, please contact the School Board Office at (540) 745-9400.

  • Floyd County School Board Announces the Appointment of New Superintendent The Floyd County School Board has completed its search for a new superintendent and announces the appoitment of Dr. John F. Wheeler as Division Superintendent.  Dr. Wheeler, who has been serving as Interim Superintendent since November 9, 2016, will officially assume his new duties as Division Superintendent effective April 1, 2017.  The Floyd County School Board welcomes Dr. Wheeler in his new role and are excited to begin working with him as he leads the school division and students to new levels of success.  Please see the attached officail announcement.
