AP / Dual Enrollment

The College Board's Advanced Placement (AP®)Program is an opportunity for students to pursue college-level studies while still in secondary school and to receive advanced placement credit in college. By challenging and stimulating students, the AP Program provides access to high quality education, accelerates learning, rewards achievement, and enhances both high school and college programs.

Floyd County High School offers several in-class AP classes: AP US History, AP English 11, Calculus. This AP course is taught by a Floyd County High School staff member and is two semesters in duration. The AP exam is taken in May of each year.

Floyd County High School also offers several online AP classes through Virtual Virginia. When considering an online AP course, please consult with your guidance counselor. Virtual Virginia Course Offerings
