Who Are Instructional Technology Resource Teachers?
Instructional Technology Resource Teachers are teacher leaders with strong preparation and background in instructional technology strategies, research, content application and hardware/software. Based in K-12 schools, Instructional Technology Resource Teachers are former classroom teachers who are responsible for supporting the professional growth of their colleagues and promoting enhanced technology utilization into classroom instruction and student learning throughout their schools. They are responsible for strengthening classroom teachers' understanding of instructional technology content, helping classroom teachers develop and utilize technology more effectively so that all students can reach high standards, and sharing research addressing how students learn. The overarching purpose for Instructional Technology Resource Teachers is to improve student achievement in all content areas through the integration of technology into content areas. To do so, they:
- Collaborate with individual teachers through co-planning, co-teaching, and coaching
- Assist administrative and instructional staff in interpreting data and designing approaches utilizing technology to improve instruction and student achievement;

Ensure that Floyd's state-aligned curriculum incorporates technology to meet the needs of all students;

Promote teachers' delivery and understanding of technology integration through long-range and short-range planning;

Facilitate teachers' use of successful, research-based strategies, including differentiated instruction for diverse learners such as those with limited English proficiency or disabilities;

Collaborate with administrators to provide leadership and vision for a school wide integration of instructional technology into the content areas so that all students can achieve;

Support instructional technology tools (hardware) and software implementation into the content areas;

Support instructional technology implementation in the content areas;

Support certified staff to meet Virginia 's Technology Standards for Instructional Personnel;
- Assist in the development of a technology assessment instrument/process for all students in 8 th and 12 th grade
