The Floyd County School Board met yesterday, January 25, in a special called meeting to make an appointment for the vacant school board seat representing the Courthouse voting district. Seven individuals submitted letters of interest and were interviewed by the School Board in a closed session. In a unanimous vote, the School Board agreed to appoint Ms. Pamela Snead to the position. Ms. Snead will serve out the remaining term of the seat vacated by Linda King. The Courthouse district seat will be filled by election in November for a 4-year term to begin 01/01/2018.
Chairman Ingram commented that the School Board felt each applicant was well qualified and was very appreciative of each individual’s interest to serve on the board.
