Floyd County Public Schools has designated the following classrooms as underpopulated for the 2016-17 school year. Policy JC gives parents/guardians an opportunity to request for students to attend underpopulated classes in the division based on classroom averages. Transportation will not be provided by the school system for students outside the originating bus route. A letter requesting the change in attendance area, as well as a form found on our website would need to be sent to the Superintendent and approved by the School Board. Parents that request a change in school attendance area will be notified by August 1st as to whether the request has been granted. Permission will be granted on an annual basis dependent upon class size. The following grades and schools are considered to be underpopulated:
Check Elementary: 2nd grade, 5th grade
Floyd Elementary: Kindergarten
Indian Valley Elementary: 2nd grade, 3rd grade
Willis Elementary: 4th grade, 6th grade (limited)
