For the 2015-2016 school year, the school division has paid for a student accident policy that covers all students from Pre-K to grade 12 who are enrolled in Floyd County Public Schools. The coverage is secondary to any insurance that already covers your child. The coverage is in effect for the days and months school is in session while the student is at school or at a school supervised event and while traveling to and from school or school supervised events in a division supplied vehicle.
Floyd County Public Schools also has catastrophic insurance coverage for students in grades 7 through 12 who are on a school sports team.
As with all insurance policies there are exclusions and limitations to the coverage. If your child has an accident that meets the criteria explained in the first paragraph of this announcement, please contact the secretary at the school your child attends. The secretary will work with you to file an insurance claim.
