• Third Grade

During math, third graders will develop their problem-solving skills by focusing on number sense, probability, fractions, geometry, addition and subtraction of large numbers, and—most exciting—multiplication!

Third grade begins the transition from learning to read to reading to learn. Comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and writing are an important focus.

In history, we will be exploring ancient civilizations, government, and the economy. Some of our science topics include the phases of the moon, simple machines, matter, and animal adaptations and habitats.

In order to prepare your child for third grade, please encourage him/her to read daily and work on memorizing basic addition and subtraction facts up to 20.
