  • WIDA Proficiency Standards
     
    On March 19, 2008, the Virginia Board of Education adopted as the English language proficiency (ELP) standards developed by the World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment (WIDA) Consortium as the statewide ELP standard for the Commonwealth of Virginia.  The Floyd County ESL teacher uses the WIDA ELP Standards as a basis for providing services to ELLs.
     
    The WIDA Consortium has developed the following English language proficiency (ELP) standards for LEP students in PreK-12:

    The 2020 Edition presents a new supporting organization for the WIDA ELD Standard Statements, along with additional resources.
