    Sports Medicine Program Goals

    The FCHS Sports Medicine Program goal is to guide our students in evidence based practice.  This program seeks to provide education focused on whole student wellness in an atmosphere where each student feels safe, comfortable, cared for, and respected.

  • 22-23 School Year

    Students will use the Canvas platform for Introduction to Health and Medical Science, Sports Medicine I, Sports Medicine II, and Dual Enrollment Medical Terminology.

  • Sports Medicine Program Certifications

    National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer:
    The National Academy of Sports Medicine has set the standard in certification, continuing education, solutions and tools for health, fitness, sports performance, and sports medicine professionals for more than 30 years.  NASM has pioneered evidence-based health and fitness solutions that optimize physical performance in all aspects of health care, sports medicine, and the fitness and performance industry.  The NASM-CPT certification is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).  NASM provides certification programs for entry-level and advanced practitioners in the sports medicine, performance enhancement, health, and fitness industries.  


    In addition to the leading fitness certification program, Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), NASM also offers advanced specializations including Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES), Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), Certified Nutrition Coach (CNC), and many others.  NASM offers more than 20 continuing education courses in a variety of disciplines and a myriad of solutions including fitness education partnerships and professional consulting that can only be obtained after an official accredited certification exam has been passed in a profession within the industry of health, fitness, sports performance, or sports medicine.  

    American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and Automated External Defibrillator Certification and Recertification:
    Students learn how to respond to and prepare for emergencies.  Students are required to obtain this certification prior to sitting for the NASM-CPT exam.
