Students at Willis, Floyd, Indian Valley, and Check Elementary Schools, in grades 3-7, learn about their community through enrichment activities. They have participated in curriculum studies about Appalachian folklore, completed research on the community, and visited downtown Floyd! Students were inspired to make videos, write stories, and many are pursuing oral histories and interviews with folks in the community. Check out the map and student videos along with the books that follow.
