About Us

Floyd County Public Schools is a small, rural school division located in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia. Serving approximately 1,600 students across five schools—four elementary schools and one high school—FCPS is committed to fostering a supportive and challenging learning environment where all students can thrive. Our dedicated educators and staff work collaboratively to provide high-quality instruction, innovative programs, and a strong foundation for lifelong success.  

Nestled in the heart of Floyd County, our community is known for its rich Appalachian heritage, vibrant arts and music scene, and strong spirit of collaboration. With a blend of family farms, small businesses, and creative enterprises, Floyd offers a unique and close-knit atmosphere where education is deeply valued.
