Governor's School Options

Floyd County Public Schools offers students two options for year-round Governor's Schools.  We have agreements with both Roanoke Valley Governor's School and Southwest Virginia Governor's School (now located at New River Community College).  We also offer Summer Residential Governor's School (SRGS) for special summer programs.
When do students apply?  For RVGS, students may only apply during their 8th grade year.  For SWVGS, students may apply during their 10th or 11th grade year.  For SRGS students may apply during their 10th or 11th grade year.

What grade levels are served?  For RVGS, students attend 9th-12th grade.  For SWVGS, students attend 11th and 12th grade.  For SRGS, students attend the summer after their 10th and 11th grade years.
