Upward Bound helps high school students overcome social, academic, and cultural barriers to higher education through career exploration, college prep workshops, cultural experiences, tutoring, and mentorship.
Virginia Tech Talent Search
Talent Search is an early intervention program for students in grades six through 12 that helps young people better understand their educational opportunities and options. Talent Search works primarily with students who would be the first in their family to complete a college degree and are from low-income households, but can also provide services to any student needing help preparing for college.
Upstart- Summer At Home Learning for Rising Kindergarteners
Take advantage of this free online summer program to help your child build academic skills and routines in preparation for kindergarten. The program provides 20-25 minutes of daily age-appropriate reading, mathematics, and science instruction and includes all necessary software and technology — including home internet access if needed — for FREE.
Waterford.org is making its Upstart Summer Learning Path program available to Virginia families at no cost through a partnership with the Overdeck Family Foundation.
Floyd Center for the Arts Camps and Classes

1,000 Things before Kindergarten
Stop by the circulation desk at the Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library and register to receive a folder and activity sheet. Track your activities by coloring in a circle after completion. Activities can include reading, singing, counting, and drawing. Once a completed log is turned in, you can pick out a free book!

K-5 Summer World Tour Camps from Virtual Virginia
This online enrichment program is open to all learners in grades K–5. The World Tour courses offer enrichment instruction in Chinese, French, or Spanish to develop vocabulary and communication skills.
CodeVA Snail Mail
Snail Mail is a free activity booklet that includes developmentally appropriate activities for 1st through 8th grade youth and their families. Snail Mail offers a collection of crafts, puzzles, coloring pages, and other activities that explore computer science. Each activity is written in English and Spanish and is mailed right to your home address!
