We are proud to announce that the Welding Program at Floyd County High School has been named the Region 6 winner of the 2025 Creating Excellence Secondary Exemplary Program Award—and has also been selected as the statewide winner for this prestigious honor!
Presented annually by the Virginia Department of Education, the Creating Excellence Awards recognize outstanding career and technical education (CTE) programs that demonstrate innovation, student achievement, and workforce relevance. This award highlights the high-quality instruction, real-world skill development, and community partnerships that make our welding program a model for excellence across the Commonwealth.
